A Message from Becca King Reed
Dear Viewers,
The future will be busy for KTEH. This year, we'll be heading into the field where we can really engage our viewers by featuring our community. We'll be doing things differently, getting more creative in new ways to save costs, but we're not slowing down.
Actually, we're ramping up, producing even more new programming than before. In 2007, KTEH made 16.5 hours of new programming, and last year we created 17 hours. We'll be producing 25 hours in 2009.
In February, we'll bring you interviews with key speakers at the State of the Valley conference. You'll be able to see them on KTEH.org before the day is finished.
In May, This is Us will profile local community members like ballerina Karen Gabey of the San Jose Ballet; Russell Baze, the jockey who holds the record for most career wins in the United States; and Simon Deng, a young man who walked hundreds of miles across Sudan, fleeing killers who were trying to wipe out his generation.
In September, you'll see a special edition of This is Us featuring some of the remarkable people who work in California's National Parks. This program will accompany the PBS premiere of Ken Burns' newest documentary The National Parks: America's Best Idea.
We'll also be launching Classic Clips, a fun look through the KTEH archives, and The Health Quiz.
So stay tuned to KTEH. We've got a lot to offer this year. We thank you for your continued interest and support.
Sincerely,
Becca King Reed
